Microchips in hands? YES PLEASE!

Big news on the BBC this morning was an office in Sweden that has started putting microchips into people's hands that allow them to get into their office, access their business card and a lot more (with even more to come too)!

For me personally this is an amazing and interesting technological advance, and something I've spent years waiting for. It's in all the sci-fi movies, in all the books, and honestly I'm really surprised at some people's reaction to this.

A tech blogger on the BBC couch was, frankly, running scared from the idea, saying that people don't want technology in their body and it'll take a few generations for it to be wanted, as if we're not already a tech-crazy world with our faces in our phones and any cool technology we can get our hands on. He also said, to the idea that the future could put your passport into a chip that you scan at the airport and skip the queue, that people may find this dangerous or bizzare and it's maybe a leap too far.

I say completely otherwise! As another man, via video call, said: if you can scan your hand, skip the queue, and get on your flight in plenty of time, why wouldn't you have an implant!? Everyone is about time saving and speed today, and this kind of technology is fantastic for that (and swiping your hand and hearing that satisfying, accepting beep will make you feel badass, come on)!

In these times when technology is massively central to our lives, we shouldn't run scared from it, we should embrace it and try it, or at least allow those who wish to the freedom to use it without being hounded about going too far.

Let the future begin!
